Little Haven Childcare is a small family run nursery in the Archway & Upper Holloway area, which was born out of the desire to create a childcare service that offered nurturing, affordable and individualised care for children.
We initially started out as childminders, however due to high demand in our service, we have developed into small thriving nursery. We have created a childcare service that will support children with structure and care. We have created a nursery that is flexible and supportive to working family needs. Little Haven is a lovely setting based in the beautiful St John the Evangelist Church in Holloway, Islington. We are based in the church halls with access to a large beautiful, recessed garden; we have the Haven Hubs for babies aged from 3 months to 2 years and the Haven Explorers for toddlers, from 2 years to 4 years.
Our Staff:
We have two Directors, Feona and Adewale: Feona was an English teacher for several years in number of inner-city schools and Ade was an Engineer before re-training as an early year’s practitioner. Stella is a senior practitioner who leads our Haven Hub and has worked with children for over 30 years. Stella has been an integral part of Little Haven for 10 years.
We have a fantastic team of practitioners who work together well to support and encourage the development of the children.
Our Setting:
We have a great routine which the children are happy with, we like to explore our community weekly and ensure the children are always visiting the Library, Museums, parks, Ecology Centre, Farms, we have a standing date with Queens Wood in Highgate, where we undertake Forest school on a fortnightly basis.
We embrace and delight in the personality of each child by meeting their individual needs, guided by the principals of The Early Years Foundation Stage. We follow the EYFS and try to ensure that each child is fulfilling their potential. We offer a warm, interesting, and structured learning environment that nurtures your child’s social development by allowing them freedom to choose and time to discover their place in the world.
We keep the parents informed with a daily diary and a termly newsletter; the children also have learning journals which we complete quarterly this includes artwork and photos with observations, this enables the parent to see what their child has been up to over the term.
We offer morning viewings by appointment, if you are interested in visiting and meeting us please just give us a call.
Little Haven is a place where children can feel at home.
